Protect important hanging files from thieves, fire, and water with this electronic, digital locking steel box. The box holds 8-1/2 by 11-inch papers and photos stored flat, protecting them against fire and temperatures reaching 1,550 degrees F for up to 30 minutes. The safe is also equipped with waterproof seal that keeps documents dry if emergency sprinklers are triggered. With 1,070 cubic inches of storage space, there's plenty of room for all those important documents and photos, with no folding necessary. A one-push latch and lock system means easy access and quick storage. Honeywell backs this safe with a limited five-year warranty and a lifetime fire-replacement guarantee. --Brian D. Olson
This thing is a monster. I guarantee you will underestimate it's size and weight. This is not the safe in which granny should put her savings bonds, stock certificates and anything she might want to mess with more than once every few months, mainly because granny will want to be able to move it and will likely break her hip in the process. Plan on putting it somewhere where it will not be in the way, but is easily accessible - this isn't a safe that is designed to be carted around the house every other day, which is great for me because I got it to replace my $45 per year safe deposit box that I went to once or twice a year.
I am pleasantly surprised with this safe, and would recommend it to anyone who has to protect, among other things, full size papers without having to fold or bend them, and is not needing to get in it on a daily basis. If you need something for daily use, find something smaller.
